Bedford County Selects ATCS as Municipal Engineer for Infrastructure Services
Altoona, Pa. — The Bedford County Board of Commissioners has selected ATCS as its municipal engineer through a five-year on-call contract to support the county’s infrastructure improvement and planning efforts. Under this agreement, ATCS will provide engineering design, inspection, and advisory services for county-owned assets, including bridges, and will assist with grantsmanship and guidance on projects that impact the county.
ATCS’ scope of services includes bridge and roadway design, construction services, geographic information systems (GIS), and grant application support. The on-call contract allows the county to issue work orders as needed to maintain and improve transportation infrastructure across the region.
“Bedford County continues to invest in a safe, efficient, and resilient infrastructure network,” said Marty Malone, assistant vice president of client services at ATCS. “We’re honored to be selected as the county’s engineer and look forward to collaborating closely to deliver timely, innovative solutions that reflect local priorities.”
ATCS was selected based on its successful delivery of past projects, strong local knowledge, and the performance of key personnel. The firm previously supported Bedford County with GIS and construction management services during its broadband tower development program. The project team brings an in-depth understanding of county infrastructure, financial considerations, and community goals. As part of its commitment to supporting the county, ATCS is considering the potential for a local office to strengthen its presence and enhance coordination.
Keller Engineers Inc. will serve as the primary subconsultant on this contract.
