Michael Fendrick, P.E., PTOE Joins ATCS as Vice President, Office Manager of our Newest Office in Raleigh, NC

ATCS is pleased to announce the appointment of Michael (Mike) as the Vice President, Office Manager of our newest office in Raleigh, North Carolina. Mike brings 29 years of experience as a transportation engineer experienced in traffic engineering and transportation planning as well as traffic and roadway design. This includes experience in traffic engineering studies, highway planning and operations, traffic forecasting, traffic capacity analysis, simulations (VISSIM and Corsim), and safety analysis. His traffic design experience includes the design of numerous signals, signing, and marking plans as well as management of intelligent transportation system (ITS) projects.

In this role, Mike will lead the operations, development and growth of the Raleigh, NC office by leveraging the reputation and expertise of ATCS, as well as his 25 years of relationships in the Triangle region to meet the client’s needs and requirements. From a technical side, Mike recognizes the need for a multi-disciplinary approach to the successful completion of projects and is looking forward to applying that approach for ATCS’ clients.

This approach is most apparent in his work on the feasibility analysis for over 50 interchange locations, most recently the I-40 at US1/I-440 interchange in Wake County. Other key projects have included the Mid-Currituck Bridge EIS, GEC assistance to NCDOT on the I-77 PPP HOT Lane in Charlotte, the development of the NCDOT Complete Streets Manual, and multiple traffic forecasts including the Kinston Bypass. During his career, he has worked with multiple clients including state DOTs, municipalities and MPOs.
